The main objective of the course is to educate practicing graduates to gain the skills and knowledge to diagnose common emergency cases and be able to perform minor every day procedures, anesthesia, and manage first aid for emergency conditions.
It enables the students to do proper history taking, eliciting general and local clinical examination of different common surgical conditions. Also, to do proper interpretation of the finding and to ask for the necessary investigations, including X-ray pictures and pathological specimen examination to reach a proper diagnosis.
It familiarizes students with different surgical problems and their management, principles of operative procedures and type of surgical instruments. Also, it enables the student to perform resuscitation and life support measures, and to deal with wound infection, hemorrhage, shock, burns, trauma, and other surgical emergencies. It provides knowledge about surgery of different body systems as GIT, urinary, cardiovascular, neurological and breast surgery. Course Contents:.
