In , he joined The Sun , where he struck up a lifelong friendship with Royal photographer Arthur Edwards ; as a result, in , he joined the team on the launch of the Daily Star as its Royal reporter. He moved to the Daily Mirror. Robinson asked Whitaker to investigate and, after conversations with various sources, including Diana's sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale , confirmed that Diana was suffering from an eating disorder identified as anorexia , in a scoop article on 19 November.
Robinson left the paper to start her television career, it was confirmed that Diana suffered from bulimia. Whitaker wrote the book Diana v. Charles which chronicled the deterioration of the relationship between Diana and Prince Charles. In , he took part in the reality television programme Celebrity Fit Club and was made team captain for the final three weeks and "Mr Fit Club ", he was one of three judges on Australia's Australian Princess television programme.
Whitaker was diagnosed with cancer in early , he had chemotherapy. Whitaker died the morning of 15 February He was a member of the Norwegian Parliament and government official with the Conservative Party of Norway.
He was a nephew of composer Ole Bull and architect Georg Andreas Bull , cousin of composer Edvard Grieg , he took his secondary education at Bergen Cathedral School in , enrolled as a student and graduated with the cand. Degree in , he was hired as an attorney in the law firm of Emil Stang , worked there from to In July he was hired in the Ministry of the Interior, moving to the Ministry of Finance the next year.
Here, he was promoted to assistant secretary in and deputy under-secretary of State in , he had been acting deputy under-secretary since He stayed in this position until , except for the period between 6 June and 7 July , when he was acting Minister of Finance. In October he became acting assessor of the Supreme Court. In January this position was made permanent, he stayed in this position until January , except for a period between and February In March , when the Michelsen's Cabinet assumed office, Bull had been appointed a member of the Council of State Division in Stockholm , he left on 6 June as the Union between Norway was unilaterally dissolved by Norway.
Instead, Bull was brought home to the newly independent state of Norway to become Minister of Justice and the Police , he stayed in this position until 26 November the same year, when he was appointed Minister of Finance and Customs.
He left after less than a year, on 6 November , he was preceded by Christian Michelsen and succeeded by Abraham Berge , both of whom were Prime Ministers at one point. Having left the Supreme Court in , he returned to politics to serve as Minister of Finance and Customs in the first cabinet Bahr Halvorsen; this cabinet existed for one year, from 21 June to 21 June Again, he was preceded and succeeded by two persons who served as Prime Ministers, Gunnar Knudsen and Otto Blehr respectively.
In addition, Bull was elected to the Norwegian Parliament for four terms. In he was elected to serve the term — as the fifth representative of Akershus Amt , he was not re-elected in He was re-elected on two consecutive occasions. For the last three terms he was the leader of the Conservative Party parliamentary group. Bull was a member of several boards and committees, both private, he was chairman of the board of Spareskillingsbanken from to , vice board chairman of Norges Bank from to and board member of the publishing house Gyldendal Norsk Forlag from In addition, was the first chairman of the Nordic cooperation organization Foreningen Norden from to In June he married Theodora Kraft.
